어제 영국의 대학중 university of Gloucestershire 세미나를 다녀왔습니다. 국제 학생 담당자인 TICO

씨가 학교에 대해 자세히 설명을 해 줬고요. 패스웨이로 해서 진행될 수 있는 학교라 앞으로 많은 학생

들이 갈걸로 생각이 되네요. 앞으로 차차 영국 학교에 대한 얘기는 많이 하려고 합니다.

오늘은 TMC에서 제공되고 있는 학교 프로그램 중에 university of Gloucestershire 의 호텔경영쪽과

이벤트 경영 전략 코스를 구분해서 학교에서 온 부분을 올립니다.

The degree consists of a total of 7 modules:

 

Financial Analysis for Managers:

 

This module will focus on strategic management accounting. It will address the importance of financial information to managers. Students will also develop their ability to: apply financial techniques; analyse financial information and evaluate company financial statements.

New Business Development:

 

New Business Development provides a complex and challenging opportunity for students to bring together knowledge and skills developed during their studies in a focused module which deals with real world applications of such learning. The module addresses the new product development process (NPD) including concept/idea generation, market research and evaluation methods and the communication process. Methods to assess the market potential for new products including product positioning, testing, test marketing, and NPD launched are studied. The assessment is the development of a business plan which allows students to integrate learning and to draw upon many concepts learnt over the past three levels of study.

 

Assessment: 100% Coursework

 

Investigative Study:

 

The content of this module will be related to a topical issue within the Hospitality Management area. It will provide scope for the student to demonstrate their ability to learn independently, research, analyse, synthesise and evaluate appropriate literature. Students will select a Hospitality Management related title from a range that will be made available.

 

Assessment: 100% Coursework

 

Communications and Marketing:

 

The module will cover the theoretical concepts and nature of marketing communications and its application in practice developing integrated marketing communications (IMC) strategies and plans. New digital media development and deployment will be considered. For non-marketers, marketing communications is marketing and in many organization communications skills are highly valued. Consumers, particularly in “leisure” choice are “bombarded” with messages and often these are ignored or miss-interpreted. This module develops understanding of practice supported by underpinning theory. Also, it will show students the key aspects of developing an IMC including the role of new digital media.

 

60% Coursework and 40% Examination

 

International Hotel and Resort Development:

 

Students will evaluate the performance and contribution of key components of an organisation and identify the competitive advantage in foreign markets. They will evaluate business practices such as multi-brand strategies and different models of ownership including joint ventures, franchising and management contracting and addresses implications for the management of product consistency and profit maximisation. The module also reviews organisational approaches to risk and crisis management and to managing publicity within an international context.

Contemporary Issues in Hospitality Management:

 

Hospitality is a dynamic and changing industry which is greatly influenced by external factors, this module will allow students to analyse contemporary issues to underpin informed discussion and debate.

Strategic Restaurant Management:

 

This module studies and interprets real life scenarios to build composite pictures of existing businesses and practices in preparation for analysing and evaluating the potential success of new business opportunities.

Contemporary issues in events management cover many aspects of the event industry. The focus is on current, up-to-date issues and modern management practices within the industry. Students are given the opportunity to critically evaluate contemporary issues. By the end of the module students will be able to express qualified opinions on many contemporary issues, in addition to evaluating the implications for the industry.

The Politics and Economics of Large-Scale Events:

 

This module seeks to critically analyse the place of large scale events within the market place, it will include: history of large scale events; large scale events and society; the role of government in the bidding process; large scale events as a mechanism for economic and business development; external factors influencing large scale events; large scale events as a driver for change.
